CDD is a non-profit autonomous organization of Catholic and feminist women, whose commitment to the pursuit of social justice and the promotion of human rights –sexual and reproductive rights for women, particularly- is based on a Catholic theological, feminist, secular and human rights approach.
Our actions are oriented to and from the respect of freedom of conscience and people’s right to choose. It is from these principles that we question the patriarchy and its diverse forms of power abuse. We identify with our Church’s progressive sectors, WHICH value people´s freedoms, question dogmas, and absolute power and work for a more inclusive Church, consistent with our current context.
CDD Peru is part of the Latin American and Caribbean “Católicas por el Derecho a Decidir” Network, which includes countries like Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, The Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Paraguay. Catholics for Choice - USA and Spain are also part of the network as associates.
